In the end I Like Aethas as a Meatball esque champion more than I like TGA for missions so I recommend TGA for a Mage's combat ally used in the "support" role. Aethas doesn't counter hazards and TGA suffer's because the other spell counter champions are quite good. Note that the support abilities have significant hidden cooldowns, and can be difficult to trigger when you want them.Īt the end of the day the decision may come down to which one you'd prefer to have running missions instead of protecting you. Aethas will do nothing if the initial target of his Sun Reaver dies, where as TGA's Pick a Card! will pulse dmg regardless of the circumstances ( except nobody being nearby), and as a result TGA will do more dmg more consistently as support, and his damage under optimal circumstances is higher than Aethas's. On the other hand when ordered to fall back support. Aethas on the other hand will spend a lot of time doing nothing as stuff dies before he lands a cast, but his Flame Reaver is miles ahead of anything TGA can do when it gets a good hit. I think as an active combat ally TGA will do dmg more consistently with his fewer abilities, and faster cast times, but even so his dmg is pretty bad.

Ultimately the question is how does he compare to other mage combat allies, especially the new hotness Aethas Sunreaver. His cast times and damage are affected by player gear and the numbers above reflect an 898 Arcane Mage's results. Despite the cooldown, and unreliability of controlling when/where he appears this is definitely his best ability and his recommend usage. The minimum cooldown on Pick A Card appears to be ~90 seconds, although I've also had it take longer for unknown reasons. I had some issues with the ability not spawning in an ideal location to hit all the enemies i was fighting, but that is common with most combat allies. Each individual hit was for 90k non-crit but it is able to hit each enemy over 40+ times for total dmg of 4mil+ per target after crits. The radius is small but the damage is terrific, easily killing the mobs I was testing on. When ordered to fall back he will periodically appear to cast Pick a Card! which is a 4 second channel in which TGA pulses for short ranged AoE. It was hitting for 90k non crit with a 1 second cast timeĮxploding Rabbit! is TGA's AoE spell it hits for 200k non crit, but has a ~10 sec cooldown and a longer 3 second cast time His two primary abilities are : Charged Card and Exploding Rabbit!Ĭharged Card is a fast casting spammable single target damage spell.
